Paula joined to record song for 2008 Olympics

It was widely reported in the newspapers today that Paula went to join many of Hong Kong's singers in the recording of the song to promote the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The song, "Beijing Olympics", was composed by local composer/singer, Ng Kwok King, and was selected by the Beijing Olymics Organising Committe among hundreds of submissions. Recording and production of the song began this week and was supervised by Ng and Alan Tam. Many local singers, including Paula, were invited to participate. On the evening of April 24,Paula, Eason Chan and Kelly Chan were among the singers to record their parts.

Because of the large number of participants, each singer would only be heard for one or two lines, or even just in the background, in the final version. Jackie Chan told the press that he had finally fought successfully to sing one line in the song besides the final 4 words. However, Paula was given the privilege to record the entire song. "I just sang the entire song with Alan, so they could edit whichever the part they want", said Paula to the reporters. And her recording was completed in just a little over one hour, a huge distinction from most local singers today who might take half an hour just to record a line.

When asked if there is any difficulty in the recording, Paula said, "a little, Alan was straight." She also commented that the production work for the song was serious, and the song was very nice to hear. When asked if this would prompt her to record her own songs again, she replied that she would think about it.
